Philip C. Kendall, PhD, ABPP, [BS Old Dominion University.1972: PhD. Virginia Commonwealth University: internship at the Palo Alto VA hospital]. Dr Kendall took his first job in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota and moved to Temple University in 1984. He is currently a Distinguished University Professor and Laura H. Carnell Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Temple University.  His CV lists over 850 publications and he has had 35 years of grant support from various agencies. He was identified as a “Most Highly-Cited” individual in the social and medical sciences (top 1%). With over 94,000 citations to his work, his recent h-Index is 160.

 Dr. Kendall was twice a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford, won the Research Recognition Award from the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and was honored by ABCT with their Career/Lifetime Achievement Award and by the Society for the Science of Clinical Psychology with their Lawrence H. Cohen Outstanding Mentor Award.  He was given the “Gold Medal Award for Impact in Psychology” from the American Psychological Foundation of the APA. 

His Coping cat program for youth anxiety has been translated into over a dozen languages and evaluated in numerous randomized clinical trials conducted in different countries and subsequently given the elite designation of an “empirically supported treatment.” 

Dr. Kendall resides in Ardmore PA, is an avid completer of the NY Times crossword puzzle (except Saturday), plays basketball twice a week, and enjoys weather-permitting riding his bicycle, tennis and pickle ball, and opportunities to spend time with his family. Life pleasures include his two sons, Mark and Reed, and his daughter-in-law Vanessa and granddaughter Quinn.
