The Parent Companion is a resource for parents or caregivers of youth participating in the Coping Cat Program for anxiety. This black & white edition informs parents or caregivers about the experiences their child will have as they complete the program. It provides background knowledge about the nature of anxiety, about its treatment, and about the ways that parents may be involved in their child’s treatment. Specifically, this resource includes information about identifying somatic responses to anxiety, changing anxious thinking, using relaxation, engaging in problem solving, and approaching rather than avoiding anxiety provoking situations.
